Airbnb is a platform built on trust. It can be a bit scary to be staying at somebody’s house if you’ve never even met the person. Guests prefer to be re-assured that the host is a “real person.” You can do this by adding verifications to your profile.

There are five verifications that you can add:

  1. Telephone number
  2. Email address
  3. Facebook
  4. Google
  5. LinkedIn

You can add these Airbnb verifications by going to Dashboard => => Profile => Trust and Verification

Airbnb verifications

From an Airbnb business perspective, you should add all verifications. The more the better, there is no downside. Even if you don’t have a Facebook or LinkedIn account, it’s worth creating one for this purpose. However, there could be personal reasons why you don’t want to of course.

In any case, Airbnb won’t share your phone number, email address or post to your social media channels that you connect.

Pro-tip: When you get a booking request, you should also look at the verifications that your guest has added. The fewer verifications you see, the less inclined you should be to accept the booking.
